In late May, I began 202 days of journaling through the 404 verses of the final book of the Bible, Revelation.  To go along with my personal study and preparation to preach through this book in 2013, I developed a tweet from every verse.  Last week, I completed the entire book.  Here’s a compilation of my tweets according to chapter.

I have to say that tweeting Scripture is a difficult project.  I find it difficult to improve on what God has said in His Word.  I view my tweeting the Bible project as more of an extended way to meditate on the text.  Grappling with how to put the meaning of God’s Word into understandable words takes some thought and energy, especially trying to handle it in context.  

At any rate, this was a fun project and I’m grateful to God that now I’ve completed it.

The life-giving, vibrant water of life flows from God and the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1)
By the water of life is found the tree of life, healing all kinds of people. (Revelation 22:2)
The Lamb has come to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found and remove it. (Revelation 22:3)
No curse. Now we have intimacy with the Lamb Himself. (Revelation 22:4)
No night? In heaven, God’s glory shines bright and He reigns FOREVER. (Revelation 22:5)
God reassures readers of His Word that it is trustworthy and true. (Revelation 22:6)
Jesus is coming soon; therefore, obey God’s Word. (Revelation 22:7)
It’s easy to mistake the messenger with the message sometimes. (Revelation 22:8)
A clear message in the Bible: don’t worship people or angels, WORSHIP GOD. (Revelation 22:9)
God’s Word is a timely disclosure of truth for people. (Revelation 22:10)
Because judgment is coming, we shouldn’t try to be who we’re not. (Revelation 22:11)
Jesus will one day right all the injustice in our world. #maranatha (Revelation 22:12)
Jesus is Everything — Beginning to End. (Revelation 22:13)
Those who relate to God through Jesus are eternally blessed to enter heaven. (Revelation 22:14)
Habitual sinners refusing to repent are not in heaven – they’re outside. (Revelation 22:15)
Jesus wants His church to be built through His eternal promise and holiness. (Revelation 22:16)
God’s call to people is always “Come,” your deepest thirsts are quenched in Me freely. (Revelation 22:17)
Adding to God’s Word or taking away from it has dire consequences. (Revelation 22:18)

Struggling with death? Crying? Mourning? Pain? God will wipe away your tears. (Revelation 21:4)
God gives us trustworthy and true words: He will make all things new. (Revelation 21:5)
God freely gives eternal satisfaction to all who come to Him. (Revelation 21:6)
Enduring to the end in the Gospel demonstrates our adoption. (Revelation 21:7)

The bride of the Lamb is seen as a holy city coming down from God’s heaven. (Revelation 21:10)

The city, picturing the Lamb’s bride, is orderly. (Revelation 21:13)
The foundation of the city is devoted to following the Lamb. (Revelation 21:14)

No temple. Why? We meet with God in Christ alone. (Revelation 21:22)
No lights needed, either.  The Lamb’s glory illuminates all. (Revelation 21:23)
In the Lamb, both nations and kings find true glory. (Revelation 21:24)
The gates of this city are open: perfectly secure in the Son. (Revelation 21:25)
All nations will glorify and honor Christ. (Revelation 21:26)
The only people in heaven are those relating to God through Christ. (Revelation 21:27)

God will be praised for the eternal punishment of His enemies. (Revelation 19:3)
All of heaven agrees with God’s righteous judgment and proclaim, “Let it be, Praise God!” (Revelation 19:4)
No matter who you are, you owe God your reverence. (Revelation 19:5)

Those sent by God for His purposes shine gloriously. (Revelation 18:1)
The judgment of the wicked includes speaking of her fallenness. (Revelation 18:2)
Immorality is a huge, detestable blight to mankind. (Revelation 18:3)
God consistently, out of His mercy, calls us to forsake sin or face its consequences. (Revelation 18:4)
God will surely punish sin. (Revelation 18:5)
Unrepentant sinners will one day reap what they’ve sown. (Revelation 18:6)
The pride of a sinner can easily blind them to their condition before a holy God. (Revelation 18:7)
God is mighty in His fair and just judgment. (Revelation 18:8)
Instead of repenting, God’s judgment of sin creates sin sympathizers. (Revelation 18:9)
Instead of bowing before God, sin sympathizers lament the swift judgment of God. (Revelation 18:10)
Sin sympathizers mourn their lack of outlets for sinning. (Revelation 18:11)
The world’s cargo has everything a sinner would enjoy. (Revelation 18:12)
The world’s cargo carries away human souls into slavery. (Revelation 18:13)
The spiral of sin is that what seems enjoyable leads to captivity. (Revelation 18:14)
Sin sympathizers aren’t concerned about the captivity of souls but selfish gain. (Revelation 18:15)
Again, sin sympathizers cry out for the world’s goods. (Revelation 18:16)
And again, sin sympathizers lament the swiftness of God’s judgment. (Revelation 18:17)
Sin sympathizers can’t see the true reality of sin’s work. (Revelation 18:18)
Rather than mourning their sin, sin sympathizers are appalled at God’s response to it. (Revelation 18:19)
Believers are called to rejoice in God’s final judgment of the world. (Revelation 18:20)
God gives a graphic picture of His judgment of the world. (Revelation 18:21)
The world’s sound of celebration in itself will be silenced in God’s judgment. (Revelation 18:22)
God’s judgment is due, in part, to the world’s deception of people. (Revelation 18:23)
God will also right the wrongs of persecution and martyrdom. (Revelation 18:24)

Sometimes God’s judgment is publicly revealed. (Revelation 17:1)
Publicly revealed judgment might occur because sins were so open and grievous. (Revelation 17:2)
The essence of sin is abandoning Jesus’ authority. (Revelation 17:3)
Objects of God’s judgment sometimes appear glorious in the eyes of the world. (Revelation 17:4)
God has marked out people according to their works. (Revelation 17:5)
It’s easy to marvel greatly at those who delight in persecuting God’s people. (Revelation 17:6)
God’s revelation takes away the mystery of our marveling. (Revelation 17:7)
We shouldn’t marvel at the world’s deception, although they do. (Revelation 17:8)
We should exercise wisdom in observing the world. (Revelation 17:9)
As kings rise and fall, remember God determines what remains. (Revelation 17:10)
Counterfeiting Jesus will lead to destruction. (Revelation 17:11)
Remember God may have a purpose for allowing wickedness to rule a season. (Revelation 17:12)

God’s wrath comes from a display of His holiness. (Revelation 16:1)
God’s wrath is surely coming on all those who refuse to rightly worship God. (Revelation 16:2)

God’s wrath, in the end, mimics the plagues on Egypt in the Exodus. (Revelation 16:4)
Angels dispensing God’s just wrath can’t help but praise Him. (Revelation 16:5)

Even an altar speaks that God’s ways are just and true. (Revelation 16:7)

God’s wrath will also be on all evil forces who oppose Him. (Revelation 16:10)
Rather than repenting, sinners choose to blame God for their lives. (Revelation 16:11)
God’s wrath prepares for final judgement in the end. (Revelation 16:12)
All the forces of evil together unite to oppose God. (Revelation 16:13)
These evil forces even deceive people into thinking that opposing God is good and wise. (Revelation 16:14)
God calls His people to WAKE UP and be prepared to endure until the end. (Revelation 16:15)
God is preparing for a final victory over evil. (Revelation 16:16)
The final victory of God is sure and fixed. (Revelation 16:17)
A great earthquake points to God’s final judgment and victory. (Revelation 16:18)
God’s wrath will one day finally break the powers of evil fully. (Revelation 16:19)
And God’s breaking of evil will affect creation. (Revelation 16:20)
Again, people respond to God with cursing, not repentance. (Revelation 16:21)

Throughout eternity, God and His people will remain. (Revelation 14:1)
God consistently reveals Himself in the Bible through speaking. (Revelation 14:2)
God’s redeemed people always have a new song to sing of God’s mercies. (Revelation 14:3)
God’s people are characterized by purity, devotion to Christ and freedom from sin. (Revelation 14:4)
God’s people are also truthful. (Revelation 14:5)
The gospel is always meant to be advancing to ALL people.  (Revelation 14:6)
God’s call to ALL: “fear & worship Me or face judgment.” (Revelation 14:7)
God’s message to ALL people warns them of the allure that this world offers. (Revelation 14:8)
A sad reality (part 1): the world can follow the god of this world. (Revelation 14:9)
A sad reality (part 2): following the god of this world gets us God in His righteous anger.  (Revelation 14:10)
God’s punishment of those who follow Satan is eternal torment. (Revelation 14:11)
The reality of God’s wrath inspires God’s followers to endure in obedience and faith. (Revelation 14:12)
Resting in Jesus means laying down our works and dying in Him. (Revelation 14:13)
Jesus is a King ruling in righteous judgment. (Revelation 14:14)
Whether we like it or not, deny it or not, God’s judgment is coming. (Revelation 14:15)
And it is Jesus Himself who exercises judgment. (Revelation 14:16)
Let judgment begin in the house of God. (Revelation 14:17)
The time of judgment is compared to a ripe harvest, O, please be right with God when the time comes. (Revelation 14:18)
One day, like a harvest, those rejecting God will be gathered for the winepress of His wrath. (Revelation 14:19)
The winepress of God’s wrath is a terrifying prospect. (Revelation 14:20)
