Gospel Friday – One in Christ

May 6, 2016 by Phil Auxier

As we think about the GOSPEL today, think about how the good news is for all kinds of people no matter what their background is.  Jesus is truly the Savior of the world.  Use this reality to thank God for the mercy He’s shown you through Jesus.

Gospel Friday – Jesus Is Exalted

April 29, 2016 by Phil Auxier

I love the realities seen in Philippians 2:5-11…

[5] Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, [6] who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, [7] but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. [8] And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. [9] Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, [10] so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Today, rest in the amazing truth that Jesus is exalted because of His work on the cross to make us right with God.

Here’s a video I linked to on Facebook last week from T4G.  It highlights how Jesus paid it all.  I hope it helps you marvel at Christ today…

Gospel Friday – Gospel Propulsion

April 8, 2016 by Phil Auxier

As you think about the amazing good news that God loves sinners and has made a way for them to be right with Him through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, remember that this message is meant for all people.  Praise God for the Gospel and ask Him to use you for the nations.

Gospel Friday – Serving As A Ransom

April 1, 2016 by Phil Auxier

What was the cost of your salvation?  It took no less that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, taking on human flesh to serve you and give His life as a ransom for yours.  Praise Him today for His work to “serve” you.

Gospel Friday – You’re A Child

February 19, 2016 by Phil Auxier

If you know Christ, trusting Him as your Lord and Savior, then you are not separated from Him, but you are a dearly loved son or daughter.  Today, then, call out to Him with confidence…

[6] And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” [7] So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
(Galatians 4:6-7 ESV)

Gospel Friday – Paid. In. Full.

January 29, 2016 by Phil Auxier

In Jesus, we have a Savior who is both our reconciliation with God and our Reconciler.  Today, trust in His work.  If you trust in Him, your sins have been paid in full.

Gospel Friday – Christ Suffered For You

January 22, 2016 by Phil Auxier

I love how 1 Peter draws out our hearts and shows us what Christ was up to in sufferings.  We read: “[22] He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. [23] When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. [24] He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. [25] For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”(1 Peter 2:22-25 ESV)

Today, you may be going through suffering yourself. Look to Jesus. And find comfort in your suffering Savior.

Gospel Friday: If God Marked Iniquity, Who Could Stand?

January 8, 2016 by Phil Auxier

Been thinking about some great truth today from Psalm 130:3-4 —

[3] If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?[4] But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.

If God marked iniquities, not one of us could stand before Him. We would all have a guilty verdict upon us. But, with Him there is forgiveness and, as a result, we stand in awe of Him. Praise Him today, for the glorious Gospel realities of forgiveness that are yours in Jesus Christ.

From One Degree To Another?

Yeah, that's right. My one, consuming passion is Jesus Christ, my Lord. I'm totally gripped by one message: the Gospel - the good news that God came after me when I was far from Him. So, the life I live, I live by faith in Him: He loved me and gave Himself for me.

From One Degree To Another is the change that He's accomplishing in me by grace. Growing downward in humility, upward into Him, outward toward others, and inward with renewal characterize my existence.

This site is where I flesh all of these types of things out, including my life as a slave to Jesus, husband, father, coffee-enjoyer, and pastor. I hope it encourages you.
