This Sunday, we’ll be exploring how the religious people were planning to kill Jesus. So today, rest in the idea that Jesus came to save sinners. He didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Weekend Preview – Killing Jesus
This coming Sunday, May 22nd, we will continue working through the Gospel of John and getting into John 5:1-18. This Gospel moves quickly to that last week of Jesus’ life. And, the plot builds in substantial ways in John 5. Specifically, we learn why the deeply religious wanted to kill Jesus. I hope you’ll come to see why religious wanted to kill Him and what this means for your life and mine.
Weekend Recap – Your Son Will Live
My 5/15/16AM sermon, Your Son Will Live from John 4:43-54, is now online. This sermon dealt with the second sign we see in the Gospel of John. It really shows how we all find ourselves in desperate situations, how Jesus draws our hearts out through this, leading us to faith and uniting us to other worshippers. I hope it encourages you.
Gospel Friday – Bless The Lord
It’s so easy to forget to speak well of the Lord. Are you blessing Him today? Is there encouragement in your heart because of who He is…
Consider Psalm 103:2-5…
It may not be what you feel, it may not be where you’re at, it may not be your heart today, but meditate and consider the amazing work of the Lord and find encouragement in Him.
Weekend Preview – Your Son Will Live
This coming Sunday, I’ll be preaching on John 4:43-54 and Jesus’ healing of an official’s son. John tells us that “this was the second sign that Jesus did when He had come from Judea to Galilee.
It’s an amazing thing that Jesus would just speak the word and heal, but that’s what He did. He did this so that we wouldn’t be stuck on signs and wonders, but would be stuck on who He is and what He says. I hope to see you Sunday as we think about this.
C.A.N. Conference – AVANT
Today, I’m privileged to be a part of the C.A.N. Conference at AVANT.
Weekend Recap – Mother’s Day / Jesus: Savior of the World
We enjoyed a great Lord’s Day at Crestview yesterday. For all women present, they were able to receive this print from Type Tree Designs:
Gospel Friday – One in Christ
Design Your Day: Be Present
I don’t know how you go about planning your day or what you’ll accomplish. I think about this type of thing a lot because I’m one of those people who plan and stuff. I was helped by this acronym in Claire Diaz-Ortiz’ helpful (and short!) book Design Your Day. She calls it being present…
Pray (for guidance/direction)
Read (usually something spiritual or devotional)
Express (put some thoughts down on paper)
Schedule (sketch out an overview of the day)
Exercise (you’ll feel better moving daily)
Nourish (do something for yourself)
Track (at end of the day, trace progress in how much you accomplished in your routine)
May you could try these elements to help you day be better designed. Listen to Claire…be present.
He Will Hold Me Fast
