Chandler on Missional Living…

April 13, 2009 by Mere Agency Support

I was really encouraged and challenged by Matt Chandler’s sermon from Sunday, the 12th. The sermon is entitled, “The Call to Mission.” He was preaching on how the reality of the resurrection informs our missional living. He concluded with a rant:

Ladies, how many more Beth Moore studies are we going to do before we run a few plays?

Guys, how many more Bible studies are we going to have before we start living this?

I thought it was an excellent and needed rant. There are many who are passionate for this or that study but aren’t passionate to live it. That is what we need more of. Listen to this sermon and be encouraged yourself.

Chandler on Church…

January 28, 2009 by Mere Agency Support

Matt Chandler, lead pastor of The Village Church, is preaching a series on the church and it is excellent. Here are the sermons and links so far…

1/10/09 – Our Church Heritage
1/17/09 – The Church Universal
1/25/09 – The Church Local

He mentioned that the sermon on 2/1/09 would be on Elders and how they relate to the body.

Excellent stuff.

From One Degree To Another?

Yeah, that's right. My one, consuming passion is Jesus Christ, my Lord. I'm totally gripped by one message: the Gospel - the good news that God came after me when I was far from Him. So, the life I live, I live by faith in Him: He loved me and gave Himself for me.

From One Degree To Another is the change that He's accomplishing in me by grace. Growing downward in humility, upward into Him, outward toward others, and inward with renewal characterize my existence.

This site is where I flesh all of these types of things out, including my life as a slave to Jesus, husband, father, coffee-enjoyer, and pastor. I hope it encourages you.
