My 11/8/20 AM sermon at Crestview Bible Church was titled God’s Incredible Works (Acts 9). It’s online now. There were some pretty incredible events that happen in chapter 9 of Acts and this sermon was my attempt to give some reminders of how God works so incredibly. My 11/1/2020 sermon at Crestview Bible Church, The Gospel Advances (Acts 8), is now online. Acts 8 is often known (rightly so) for Philip sidling up to the Ethiopian eunuch to share the Gospel with him. But, there are other ways the Gospel progresses in this section, which comes on the heels of the first martyr, Stephen’s, death. I hope this sermon encourages you with the truth of the Gospel advancing.
My 10/25/20 AM sermon at Crestview, Jesus Sees and Cares (Acts 6-7) is now online. The sermon dug into the story of Stephen, the first Christian martyr and an early church leader in Jerusalem. A simple refrain emerged in these two chapters: Jesus sees and cares for His people. He sees and cares for the needs in the community, the suffering of His people, as well as their courageous witness. I hope the sermon is encouraging to you.
My 10/18/20 sermon at Crestview was about Our Unstoppable God from Acts 5. This particular passage was filled with God striking down people, great fear, a church being built, dramatic rescue, courageous witnesses, and even unbelievers helping to bail out believers. So, there were many details that could easily distract us from the main point. But, God was the one on the move. And, He was unstoppable, not letting either sin or attempts to silence the good news get in the way of His plans.

As you know, God has called His people to be witnesses to Him (Acts 1:8). This means that our lives should be about the good of our community (which I unpacked in my sermon on Acts 3). My 10/11/20 AM sermon at Crestview, Responses and Resistance (Acts 4), is now online. It dug into how the community may respond to our doing good among them. I hope it encourages you to persevere in doing good for others.
My 10/4/20 sermon was from Acts 3 and dug into the story of Peter and John healing a lame man. The sermon was entitled The Lame Leap. The sermon helped unpack what it looks like for us to love our community. I really hope that it encourages you.

My 9/27/2020 sermon, Pentecost (Acts 2), is now online. This sermon continued my series on the book of Acts. Specifically, in chapter 2, we see how the sending of the Holy Spirit relates to Jesus building His church. I hope this sermon encourages you.
My 9/20/2020 sermon, Ascension Outcomes (Acts 1:6-26), is now online. This sermon dug into the Ascension of Jesus, when He rose and took His place at the right hand of God the Father. In the midst of this, Jesus gave His followers focus, clarified their mission, and helped guide them from heaven. I hope this sermon encourages you.
What a day at Crestview on 9/13. We began new Sunday School classes, resumed Nursery and Children’s Church services, and I was able to kick off a new series on the book of Acts. My opening sermon, Introducing Acts (Acts 1:1-5), is now online.
The point of the sermon was to direct people to some big, over-arching themes of the book. We saw some things about how Jesus will build His church: Jesus is alive, He’s gathering people together, and equipping us for mission.

My 9/6/20 sermon, Praiseworthy and Praised (Psalm 145), is now online. My goal was unpack a psalm that is relentless in focusing our attention on God, who He is, what He does, and how He’s praiseworthy and worthy of praise. Part of my application at the end of the sermon included the 4 G’s…
What we believe about God is fairly practical when it comes to living. So, I hope this encourages you to be freed to through love serve others in this season of pandemic worries, presidential politicking, and uneasiness over schools reopening.
Further, we used Psalm 145 to springboard us into a Week of Prayer, casting our cares on our Father in these days. Here’s a link to that prayer guide.
