This coming Sunday, Lord willing, we’ll continue our plodding through the Gospel of John, camping out in John 18:28-19:16. This section of the Gospel gets at Jesus appearing before Pilate, with he and Pilate have a lot of interaction together. Specifically, Jesus poses a big problem for Pilate and this gives us insight into how we think of politics today. I hope you come eager to pursue Christ’s glory as He moves to the cross. (We’ll also be discussing this in Small Groups…here are some questions.)
Weekend Preview – Jesus Must Suffer
This coming Sunday, Lord willing, we’ll continue our study of John’s Gospel, focusing in on John 18:1-27. Jesus asked Peter in the midst of the happenings of this chapter “Shall I not drink the cup that Father has for me?” And, this chapter is humbling and encouraging as we see Jesus suffer for sinners like us. He drank the cup of the Father’s wrath dry. And, specifically, this passage shows Jesus suffer in His betrayal, arrest and trial, as well as being denied by one who promised loyalty. Plan to join us and see Jesus.

This coming Sunday at Crestview, we’ll continue our study of the Gospel of John, focusing in on John 17, where Jesus prays for an entire chapter: John 17:1-26. Weekend Preview – Love & Hate
This weekend at Crestview, we’ll continue making our way through John’s Gospel, specifically landing in John 15:12-27. It’s an amazing passage, really. After all that happens in the Upper Room, you’d wonder what else Jesus has to say or do. And, in this passage, He draws our attention to love and hate. Jesus’s followers are to be marked by love. And, Jesus’s followers will be hated by the world. But, Help has been sent by Jesus.
So, I hope you come prepared to worship, marveling at the love the Father has for us in sending us His Son who sends the Holy Spirit. See you Sunday.

Confessing Our Faith – Praise That God Sent His Son
For the past few months, on weeks we take the Lord’s Supper together, we’ve been using statements of our faith that unite us as we gather around the Lord’s table together. This coming Lord’s Day, we’ll be using this confession entitled Praise That God Sent His Son from Coram Deo Church in Omaha, NE:
for sending your Son, Jesus,
to be King of kings.
We rejoice that he has triumphed
over all the powers of this world
and governs the nations in justice and righteousness.
We celebrate the victory He won
by his life, death, resurrection, and ascension.
By your Spirit, claim our complete loyalty;
Establish Christ’s rule in every land and in every heart.
Accept our worship as we offer our lives
in the service of His kingdom.
