Kevin DeYoung presents a helpful post on how you can care for your pastor. I would agree with his conclusions on how this helps the body. And, am blessed to have a body and leadership team that provides for me in such ways. If you wonder why such things are so important, read DeYoung on Give Your Pastor A Break.
I’m back…
So, I’m back from vacation, fairly rested and ready to return to work. Have had a full day. A new telephone system was put in place at work (our old one was struck by lightning and inoperable). We also had a boiler inspection at 11AM. Painting was happening. Internet was out and fixed around 2:30. I’ve proctored a test for someone, got a crown put in on a tooth and have an adjustment with my chiropractor shortly.
On top of all this (and the obvious reason for the picture) is that we found out today Meghan is pregnant with child #3. We’ll see what we can find out in the coming days about specifics. But, for now, we are full with praise to God for again giving us conception (see Ruth 4:13 for proof that God is the One ultimately behind this).
Vacation – Summer 2010
After yesterday’s AM service, we left for vacation. So…posts may be sporadic. We traveled yesterday to Springfield, MO and will be in Branson for a bit, then STL, then to my Mom’s for the weekend. Pray that God would give me a servant’s heart toward my family and give physical rest and refreshment of spirit.
Leadership and Family Vacations…
As one who entertains hopes of time away with family in my near future, I was reminded this AM of these excellent posts from C.J. on how men can lead in their family vacations. You can read each part (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) or download all the posts as a PDF.
Vacation…
As some of you may know, we left at 3AM on Tues, Nov 24, to come to my Mom’s. We ended up getting here around 2:30PM, and after Supper at my sister’s, we were all exhausted. Andrew went up to his cousins and said (without our prompting), “By-by, we are going to Bamma’s to go to sleep.”
So, we are having some vacation time. I knew it was vacation this morning when I got up this morning. My vacation:
A third cup of morning coffee…
