Dreaming and my thoughts went here…

May 21, 2015 by Phil Auxier

So, I was dreaming about our H2Go Team‘s vision, asking the Lord how He might lead us in global missions and this song was brought to my memory:

Lyrics from Hymnary.org

1 How sweet and awesome is the place
with Christ within the doors,
while everlasting love displays
the choicest of her stores.
2 While all our hearts and all our songs
join to admire the feast,
each of us cries, with thankful tongue,
“Lord, why was I a guest?
3 “Why was I made to hear your voice,
and enter while there’s room,
when thousands make a wretched choice,
and rather starve than come?”
4 ‘Twas the same love that spread the feast
that sweetly drew us in;
else we had still refused to taste,
and perished in our sin.
5 Pity the nations, O our God,
constrain the earth to come;
send your victorious Word abroad,
and bring the strangers home.
6 We long to see your churches full,
that all the chosen race
may, with one voice and heart and soul,
sing your redeeming grace.

Hope for the “Average” Church…

December 21, 2010 by Phil Auxier

You might know that “the median church in the U.S. has 75 regular participants in worship on Sunday mornings.” (Stats here) While many pastors would love to be in the mega-church, the simple fact of the matter is that many are called to more “meager pastures.”

I found great hope and encouragement, therefore, in a message given at the 2010 Sovereign Grace Pastor’s Conference entitled, “The Advantage of the Small(er) Church“. We often don’t think of smaller churches as having much to offer. But, Loftness, with typical Sovereign Grace Ministries humility, finds the evidences of grace prevalent in churches of this size and urges us to get after our Lord’s work with renewed vigor. I think leadership teams, in particular, of smaller churches would benefit from this message.

…is now in the books…

The audio is online, featuring sermons from C.J., Kevin DeYoung, Dave Harvey, Rick Gamache and others.

It looks like they had some amazing books circulating as well.

Continue to take advantage of the medium of free audio and watch your soul be changed and sharpened.

The Gospel

August 24, 2010 by Phil Auxier

This video is an animation based on The Gospel Song, a song I sing at night to my boys and we use in corporate worship occasionally.

More info on the song and video is available here from Sovereign Grace including a free download, guitar chart and 4 part hymn arrangement.

Sunday in Minneapolis…

January 31, 2010 by Phil Auxier

Up and around this morning then out the door to Sovereign Grace Fellowship in Bloomington, MN (home of Cole Aldrich & Best Buy, a south suburb of Minneapois).

Enjoyed an amazing morning with these dear saints.
The service began at 10AM with songs centered on grace (Holy, Holy, Holy, O What Grace, Ransomed, Grace, Grace Like Rain, Grace Unmeasured and All I Have Is Christ). After a welcome, they dismissed the children to teaching Pastor Matthew Wassink gave an amazing message from 1 Peter 1:22-25 entitled, “Grow in Faith, Grow in Grace: Love One Another.” This fellowship of churches does such an amazing job in welcoming. I was so encouraged visiting with Pastor Rick Gamache.

We left from there for lunch and other fun things in Bloomington and came back to the hotel to rest. Hoping for a restful night.

From One Degree To Another?

Yeah, that's right. My one, consuming passion is Jesus Christ, my Lord. I'm totally gripped by one message: the Gospel - the good news that God came after me when I was far from Him. So, the life I live, I live by faith in Him: He loved me and gave Himself for me.

From One Degree To Another is the change that He's accomplishing in me by grace. Growing downward in humility, upward into Him, outward toward others, and inward with renewal characterize my existence.

This site is where I flesh all of these types of things out, including my life as a slave to Jesus, husband, father, coffee-enjoyer, and pastor. I hope it encourages you.
