Gospel Friday – Faith and Abraham

June 23, 2017 by Phil Auxier

There’s amazing news throughout the Bible.  And, one of the lines we could travel would be the see how God worked through His Word to show us the amazing salvation we enjoy.  God promised Abraham that in him, all the nations of the world would be blessed.  And, today, those of us who believe are blessed because we have the same kind of faith that Abraham had: he believed God and God counted him as righteous.

Today, rest in Christ and bank all your hope in Him.  And you will be among the blessed.

Gospel Friday – United To Christ

June 16, 2017 by Phil Auxier

It’s Friday.  Slow down.  Breathe deep.  And think of this: if you believe in Jesus, then it’s not you living today but Christ living in you.  So, as my friend Jared Wilson says, let’s pray that Jesus would be big in us.  Christ lives in you.

Gospel Friday – Christ

April 28, 2017 by Phil Auxier

Today, is your living Christ?  Philippians 1:21 has Paul writing from a prison cell saying to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Today, no matter what you face, no matter who you have to deal with, no matter what troubles emerge, no matter what privileges come, let your living be Christ.

Pray night now that your life would be all Christ.  He’s not only worthy of that.  He’s able to accomplish His life in you.

Gospel Friday – Jesus Brings Living Water

March 24, 2017 by Phil Auxier

In John 7, Jesus gives a picture of what believing in Him looks like.  It’s coming to Him and drinking.  The result, out of our lives flow rivers of living water.  Today, if you know Jesus, rejoice that living water flows in you and will for eternity.

Gospel Friday – All Things New

March 10, 2017 by Phil Auxier

Here the promise of Jesus: “Behold, I’m making all things new” (Revelation 21:5)

I’ve been thinking about this in Hutch, as the devastation of the fires is being realized…this isn’t the end of the story.  But, the deeper hope and truth is that our lives can be made new.  Spend some time today marveling at His creative, redemptive power being displayed in you.

Gospel Friday – Snow

January 6, 2017 by Phil Auxier

I love winter.  It’s easily my favorite season because it has Christmas and snow.  Therefore, I thought I’d use the January momentum to remind you of how pure white Jesus has made you.  He offers free and full forgiveness.  Praise Him today for forgiving sin and though your sins were as scarlet, He’s made them white as snow.

Gospel Friday – New Creations in Christ

December 30, 2016 by Phil Auxier

New Year.  Newness.  Freshness.

Hear the amazing news of what is yours in Jesus:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

So, if you are a believer, all of this newness, freshness, life, and vitality is yours because of Jesus.  You are in Him and with Him the old has passed away; the New defines you.

Gospel Friday – Good News, Great Joy, All People

December 23, 2016 by Phil Auxier

Christmas is coming this weekend.  Center your thoughts and life on the amazing news that the angels delivered to the shepherds in the field (and as a result to all kinds of people like them):

There is Good News…

Of Great Joy…

For all people:

Unto you is born, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10-11)

Gospel Friday – Jesus, Son of God, Savior

December 16, 2016 by Phil Auxier

I know this may be obvious for many of you, but Christmas is about Jesus.

He’s named Jesus because He would saved.

He’s named Christ because He would keep God’s promises.

He’s named Emmanuel because He is God with us.

So, take some time today to look to Him, behold Him, praise Him.

From One Degree To Another?

Yeah, that's right. My one, consuming passion is Jesus Christ, my Lord. I'm totally gripped by one message: the Gospel - the good news that God came after me when I was far from Him. So, the life I live, I live by faith in Him: He loved me and gave Himself for me.

From One Degree To Another is the change that He's accomplishing in me by grace. Growing downward in humility, upward into Him, outward toward others, and inward with renewal characterize my existence.

This site is where I flesh all of these types of things out, including my life as a slave to Jesus, husband, father, coffee-enjoyer, and pastor. I hope it encourages you.
